Never stop learning.
When learning a new topic, I find the biggest challenge is decerning what is essential and how to spend my time and energy.
The goal of my newsletter and this article is to sort through the vast body of information to provide a strong foundation of knowledge allowing the reader to learn incrementally.
The following books are on my recommended reading list.
Covel introduces the reader to a trading strategy that makes money in up, down and surprise markets. He provides numerous examples of how this strategy has been effective and how it has made money in market crashes.
This book is a must-read.

I have tremendous respect for Brian and his teaching regarding multiple timeframes. Just like buying a car, you want to look under the hood.
Trade your Way to Financial Freedom by Van K. Tharp

Tharp covers the creation of a business plan and position sizing.
More importantly, Tharp discusses mastering the psychology of trading, raising the pertinent questions you must ask yourself about becoming a trader, being a trader, and succeeding as a trader.
Trading Beyond the Matrix by Van K. Tharp
Eleven traders share how taking the red pill transformed their trading and their lives.
Stan Weinstein's Secrets For Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets by Stan Weinstein
This Trend Following book is dated; however, you MUST read this one.
